I've chosen to focus my final project around the word 'Obfuscation', meaning:
I decided on this word as I enjoyed taking pictures with the subject of focus but felt that I was limited in the photos I could take, under this heading I feel I will be able to further develop my ideas and experiment with multiple mediums.
I plan on taking photos which demonstrate obfuscation from multiple interpretations. This may include hidden places which was inspired while on a trip to the barbican by the photographer Steven Shore, adjusting the focus until the photo is indistinguishable ( with an improved range by using a longer lens) and purposely obscuring the lens and object with different materials such as baking paper or cling film. I also plan on expanding this idea into analog within the dark room by experimenting with multiple objects and the order I put the chemicals on, also by inverting my digital photos after printing and possibly using a pin hole camera.
When editing my photos I may choose to mask out certain areas as it correlates with the word 'obfuscate', alter the composition by creating a glitch like image, I may also interchange parts of photos which I can also do while taking a photo or in Photoshop through creating a double exposure image.
My ultimate aim is to present a range of media that accurately convey the meaning of obfuscation and cause the audience to question what they see, so I will make sure to taking this into consideration when thinking of how to present my final. Currently I am thinking of doing this either through video, online or a series of photos hung up in a tunnel format.
